The Readiness Assessment stream of the methodology covers how and when assessments will be conducted to assess operational readiness of each clinical area prior to commencing patient care.
Achieving a state of readiness means being in a position to execute a smooth and effective transfer of the operation or commencing a new area from the project team to hospital operations, and that all staff/stakeholders are capable of effective and efficient operations from day one.
A lack of readiness planning is a common cause of poor operational start-up which can incur significant added expense and a detrimental impact on reputations medically, organisationally and politically.
Typically members of the Executive or nominees will confirm the proposed operational readiness assessment process, the Go / No-Go criteria and the process for the Readiness (Go / No-Go) Assessment.
